Estate Planning

There is a vast difference in the mindsets between two popular bumper stickers: “I’m spending my kids’ inheritance!” and “I’m a Proud Parent of a TERIFFIC KID!”

Of course, there is a wee bit of jest involved, but in Canada, when you’re deciding who will receive your hard earned assets, you have a few options.

  1. Your heirs,
  2. The charities you believe in, and
  3. The Government.

You can choose the order.  And with proper planning, you can choose two out of the three.

It is about finding your right balance. Letting you decide instead of circumstances or the Courts or CRA.  Deep down you probably know what you want.  It’s just a matter of articulating it, thinking it through, and getting started to achieve what you want to achieve.

And if you don’t know what you want, we get that!  It’s not always easy to consider what the world will be like when we pass on, but most of us desire to leave a positive impact.  So it is a conversation worth having.

And it doesn’t have to be complicated.  Our team appreciates that every situation is different and at the core of the process is the desire for more choice, fewer hassles, and no regrets.
